Research:  The nitrogen cycle is complicated, there are a lot of gasses being produced, consumed, exchanged, etc. but due to climate change, there are imbalances that result in wasteful nitrogen use in crops. This results in an abundance of nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas, and lots of wasted fertilizer and funds. We hope to develop a better understanding of these metabolic pathways within our crops and soil microbes by placing a variety of sensors around the plots.
